Cape Gooseberries are also known as physalis. It is a small, round fruit wrapped in a chinese lantern papery case. The fruit has a pretty orange to gold colour and a delicate sweet-sour taste, between a gooseberry and a cherry tomato. It can be eaten on its own, or you can dip it in melted chocolate. They are excellent in jams and jellies, in fruit salads, or in pies or crumbles.Class I
